Responsibilities: Undertook all aspects of public opinion research projects for government and private sector clients. For quantitative studies, this included determining client needs, questionnaire and sample design, data analysis, report writing and formal presentations of findings. For qualitative studies, this included consultation on moderator's guides, focus group moderating, and the provision of written and oral reports to clients.
As an analyst, Martin used a variety of univariate and multivariate statistical tools to maximize the research value obtained from quantitative research, and translated findings into simple language and actionable recommendations for clients.
Martin was a principal contributor to Perspectives Canada, a quarterly publication of Insight Canada Research which tracks developments in public opinion for a variety of public and private sector subscribers. Martin was also a primary analyst and writer for Atlantic Perspectives and Régard sur le Québec, both syndicated studies conducted by Insight Canada Research in 1994.
